PS3 Impressions Part 1

So I went to Best Buy with the intent to buy the 80gig model with Motor Storm included. Luckily though I actually listened to the sad dopey employee who thought I'd be his friend. He tried to trump my research mentioning the 60gig had the hardware backwards compatability while the 80gig was software. Having two PS2s at home I wasn't really biting...yet. Why the hell was he trying to sell me a 60gig model that was the same price as the 80gig which came with a freaking game? Then the portly gentleman mentioned that with the 60gig I would get a free controller or either Lair or Heavenly Sword for free. Since I hate racing games I was intrigued. My mind quickly did that rolodex flipping thing to the sections for videogame reviews. Lair was crapular while Heavenly Sword was...better...kinda... I was sold on Heavenly Sword cuz a pretty lady fighting shit beats racing. So I picked up HS, the 60gig, and component cables cuz I do have a nice 50inch 1080 HD TV and really wanted my new baby to look nice.

So the second I get home, what do I do? If you think it's "hook up the console and enjoy gaming bliss" you'd be wrong. The correct answer is: I got violently ill and was confined to my bathroom for a good long while. Eww

After I felt better I finally cracked open the box. Ahh the new console smell. I unwrapped each cord with care, snaking them around my tv to fit snugly into their new homes. I tried not to make eye contact with my Wii or 360 during this, they're a jealous duo and I knew they were pissed.

I touched the power switch, very futuristic no power button, just kinda touch sensitive area that lights up. The orchestra sound that PS3 makes upon startup sent chills down my spine.

First thing I wanted to do was set up my PSN account, which meant having to update my system.

45 minutes later....

My console was updated, and shit it took forever. Ok I jumped on the Playstation Store and selected a bunch of demos and videos to download, then I was ready to start Heavenly Sword

To Be Continued
