Episode Review: Pushing Daisies

"Dummy"

What I Liked:

-Kristin C's rendition of an Olivia Newton John classic

-Insanely crazy murder case

-Subtle frog reference to Dead Like Me

-The Crime Solving Threesome

What I Didn't Like:

-Chuck and Ned are adorable, but the not touching thing might get old

-The Narrator is taking lines away from the cast, not cool

Random Thought:

Kristin Chenoweth is in Pushing Daisies with Lee Pace who was in Wonderfalls with Tracey Thoms who was in Rent with Idina Menzel who was Elphaba to Chenoweth's Glinda... That's how my brain works!

Overall:

Continues the pilot's charm, humor, and amazing look. I'm digging that there will be a crime to be solved each week along with this unique cast of characters. Let's hope ratings remain high!

John Barrowman's New CD

From johnbarrowman.com:

ANOTHER SIDE - John's NEW CD
Another Side is a collection of songs that John has long admired and wanted to reinterpret in his own distinctive way. Across a number of musical genres, but predominantly sumptuous, streamlined pop, he lends his rich vocals to, amongst others, Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time", Elton John's "Your Song", and Chicago's "If You Leave Me Now". His rendition of Billy Joel's "She's Always A Woman To Me" is velvet and sensuous, as is his heartfelt interpretation of "All Out of Love" .

Full Track Listing :
1.All Out Of Love
2.You're So Vain
3.She's Always A Woman
4.Time After Time
5.Weekend In New England
6.Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
7.If You Leave Me Now
8.Your Song
9.Please Remember Me
10.Heaven
11.Being Alive
12.Feeling Good
13.All By Myself

The highly anticipated album Another Side releases in the UK on
November 12th out on Sony BMG. (Other release dates TBA)

Doctor Who Series 4 Wishlist

I should have begun witha post proclaiming my love of Doctor Who, but I like to do things backwards so that'll come later. Right now though I've got a list of what I hope to see in Series 4 of the show, which us bastard Americans probably won't be seeing til 2009

1. Bring back Rose- if only for an episode, I'm not saying I want her and the Doctor to see each other again, but fans would just like to know what she's up to.

2. A 3rd companion- Ok this might be a bit confusing, we already know Donna (The Runaway Bride) will be the main companion this series with Martha showing up halfway through. I'd like to maybe see a 3rd companion show up, perhaps another male, or even someone from a different time than our own. Let's shake things up.

3. Torchwood Crossover- How weird would it be if Captain Jack was giving orders and not the good Doc? Maybe they could explore that

4. David Tennant Announces he's playing the Doctor for 6 more series- enough said

5. A Series without Daleks: I know, this may be heresy, but c'mon, let's see how long we can go without them popping up.

Geek Dude Website of the Day

What better way to announce to the world just how supremely geeky you are then by wearing it across your chest. Duck With Glasses, advertising itself as a "Funky Little T-Shirt Search Engine" provides visitors with a useful tool to find that special shirt that either makes you look really cool, or like a total wang. My personal favorite is the "#2 is #1 if you're a pencil"

The site covers 10 companies and will hopefully add a few more (jinx.com maybe) So whatever you're in the mood to find, hopefully this will be a good place to start your search. Now I'm off to get a Jesse and the Rippers Tee!
